Demonstrating co-created, nature based and natural process solutions for adaptive water management
Demonstration investments will be implemented in 8 regions.
Investments will feature nature-based and/or natural process solutions. Nature-based solutions are manufactured or constructed solutions that are inspired by nature. Natural process solutions (also referred to in member states and the EU as ‘natural flood management’ or ‘working with natural processes’) are designed to modify and enhance natural processes to achieve more sustainable water management. We aim to demonstrate that such solutions can be less expensive than traditional engineered solutions and that they have more benefits for biodiversity, commercial land management, landscape and amenity.
Monitoring plans and actions will be put in place to gather and analyse data and assess our success in this aim.
